Barney’s Pharmacy has two ASHP/APhA accredited postgraduate year 1 (PGY-1) residencies. One is offered through the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and the other is offered through the South Carolina College of Pharmacy in conjunction with the Kennedy Pharmacy Innovation Center. Both of our programs offer a wide range of educational experiences including:
- Geriatric consulting at nursing homes
- Medication Therapy Management
- Precepting P1-P4 students (and optional teaching certificates)
- Public health initiatives
- Weekly pharmacotherapy discussions Attending national pharmacy meetings
Our program is designed to train a clinical pharmacist for the community. The site preceptors have expertise in many medical or pharmacy-related areas from private business to diabetes.
