Compounding & Pain Management

Compounding for pain management provides us with an opportunity to work with your provider to create a prescription that is unique and tailored to your individual needs.

Acute pain can easily evolve into chronic pain. Looking to avoid opioids? Many commercially available over the counter and prescription treatments offer minimal help and/or unwanted side effects.

Every individual is unique and the pain they experience can be equally diverse. By working with a compounding pharmacist at Barney's Pharmacy, your healthcare provider can prescribe treatments tailored specifically to your pain management needs.

Ask your physician or a Barney’s pharmacist today about the benefits of personalized compounding! Contact us directly (706) 849-3539 or compounding@barneysrx.com

Alternate Dosage Forms

With compounding, we are able to offer patients customized options for pain relief. We can create alternate dosage forms such as topical creams, gels, sprays and suppositories as well as combine several medications into one dose providing greater convenience for the patient. Because a patient's size, symptoms, and pain tolerance may vary, commercially available dosage forms of a medication may not provide the appropriate dosage strength for a patient. Through compounding, we can customize the dosage to the exact amount the patient requires, and find a dosage form that best suits the patient's needs.

Looking for an Alternative to opioids ?

have an autoimmune disorder?

Ask us about Low Dose Naltrexone

  • Low Dose Naltrexone attaches to opioid receptors in the brain and in all types of immune cells, which temporarily blocks endorphins from attaching to them. This signals your body to increase endorphin production. The increased endorphin production helps orchestrate the activity of stem cells, macrophages, natural killer cells, T and B cells and other immune cells.
  • LDN has been found to be beneficial in variety of conditions including Autism, Celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, Fibromyalgia, Inflammatory bowel disease, Lupus, Psoriasis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Ulcerative colitis, and Lyme disease.
  • Barney's Pharmacy can compound Low Dose Naltrexone into capsules typically ranging from 1.5mg to 4.5mg. The most common maintenance dose is 4.5mg
